WHO ARE WE AND WHAT DO WE DO?
The SW England Fishing Safety Forum exists to bring fishing stakeholders together to address safety issues and discuss other issues relevant to the catching sector in the SW.
The key aims of the forum are:
To help reduce injuries and accidents and support safe working systems on-board commercial fishing vessels.
To develop industry-led initiatives and projects to address the most significant causes of loss of life and vessel accidents.
The forum membership includes vessel skippers and crew, SW fishermen’s Associations representatives, vessel/fleet owners, fishermen’s training associations, fishing port representatives and members of the MCA, MAIB, RNLI and Fishermen’s Mission.
An open invitation is made to all SW commercial fishermen, regardless of their affiliation to an Association or not, to attend and observe Forum meetings. If you want to submit an idea to the group then please contact us on 07518 308668 or 07876 035738.
