There are many organisations and projects which offer practical and financial support for fishermen and their families. This includes everything from help with physical and mental health, help with managing day to day issues and support and assistance for more major events.

Seafit Programme - Health, Dental and Wellbeing support for fishermen

The SeaFit Programme is a joint initiative from the Seafarers Hospital Society and the Fishermen’s Mission, to deliver improvements in the health and wellbeing of fishermen and their families around the UK.

Dreadnought Medical Service - Priority hospital treatment for fishermen.

The Dreadnought is a priority medical service for seafarers based at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London. The principal aim is to treat you as quickly as possible and allow you to return to work. More Information.

The Fishermen's Mission - Welfare and Support for fishermen and their families.

The Fishermen’s Mission is the only fishermen’s charity that provides emergency support alongside practical, financial, spiritual and emotional care. They help all fishermen, active or retired, and their families.

Seafarers' Advice & Information Line (SAILine) - Citizens Advice for fishermen.

SAIL is the only Citizens Advice Bureau service for seafarers and their families. They work by phone and email, providing specialist telephone advice to working and former seafarers, their families and dependants.
